About
I am Carlos Estévez, a Spanish architect and artist based in London. ezgaa lab is my studio at the intersection of art and architecture — a place where architectural thought is carried into the language of art.
Each work begins as an idea about architecture: a proposition about how a building is conceived, read and represented. The print is that proposition made visible — an argument carried through to a finished work, not an illustration of one.
On one side, I draw out the artistic moments buried in the development of a building. On the other, I express architecture artistically, through the conventions architects use to communicate a design: the plan, the elevation, the axonometric.
A print from the Footprints series was selected for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 2025.
Prints are produced by hand in the studio, so colours may vary slightly between copies.
